Megan McGrath is an accomplished litigation attorney who represents agencies that provide rehabilitation and elder care, as well as religious orders, as a Senior Counsel at Airdo Werwas. Previously, Megan was a Senior Litigation Associate representing government entities and law enforcement officers in federal civil rights litigation for government entities and private firms. She honed her litigation skills as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Civil Actions Bureau for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago Department of Law. She has tried over ten jury trials in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, representing the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in a variety of civil rights matters including police shootings, alleged unlawful search and seizure, false arrest, excessive force, and other injury claims. In 2018, Megan successfully argued a case before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Megan is an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she currently teaches intensive trial practice courses. Megan is also on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Megan is on the Executive Committee for the Catholic Lawyers Guild, serving as Secretary. She is also a Peer Mentor for the Lawyers’ Assistance Program in Chicago. Megan was recognized for excellence in pro bono service in 2014, receiving the Northern District of Illinois’ Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service.

Megan holds a law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame, where she graduated cum laude. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
